Is it 2011 yet?

My dear Tasty Retreat readers,

Happy holidays!

I apologize for my recent absence. I have a million excuses, most of which are good: we had family in town for a week (that’s three additional people in our 1-bedroom apartment), the restaurant got slammed (which means I was slamming my head against a wall for . . . → Read More: Is it 2011 yet?

My Favorite Chili

I know for a fact that winter is here. Do you want to know how I know? Because yesterday it snowed. And then last night the snow melted a little, and ice froze on the ground. And today as I was walking to work I slipped on said ice, landed on both my knees (true story), and thought both my knee caps were broken.

Good news first: my kneecaps are not broken.

BBQ Chicken Pizza

Anyone familiar with California Pizza Kitchen has probably tried (or at least heard of) their original claim to fame: Barbecue Chicken pizza. CPK specializes in gourmet pizzas, attracting both classic pie lovers (Pepperoni or Margherita) and those who are more adventurous (see other pizza flavors here).

We eat here maybe once a year, but when we do I’m always tempted to order this pizza.
